Two Places At Once
This reader wanted to remain anonymous but has a wonderful ghostly encounter to share.
The reader was working in a care home in the 2000s looking after elderly residents who needed around the clock attention. She absolutely adored her job and loved the residents she worked with.
Checking Out
One morning when she was finishing a night shift, she was doing the rounds dispensing medication to the residents when she had trouble opening one resident’s room. The door wouldn’t budge no matter how hard she pushed on it.
She had to get a maintenance man in to help her open the door, but she soon wished she hadn’t.
A Grim And Sad Discovery
The resident had fallen behind the door, blocking it from opening. Sadly, the resident had bashed her head in the fall, and had unfortunately passed away.
A Ghostly Goodbye
The necessary emergency services were called and our reader went downstairs to the lobby to wait and give a report on the incident.
As she was sitting there, shaken and upset at what had happened, she saw the resident coming down the stairs putting on her coat as if she was going out for the day. She stopped momentarily to smile and wave, her head still all bloody from the fall, then carried on down the stairs and out of the front door.
Moments later, paramedics brought her lifeless body out on a stretcher and carried her downstairs to a waiting ambulance.
Our reader refused to ever work night shift again.
A Ghost? Or Just Tiredness and Stress?
So, did our reader experience her resident leaving this world to go on to the next? Or was it the result of a long and traumatic night taking its toll on her?
This one, if it happened, is not so easy to explain.
